Spalding - Students will enter List 12 in their spelling notebooks and work with words. Test will be on Thursday on List 11. Practice with Rule 17 and spelling homework packet 11 due on Thursday of this week. There will not be a pretest this week.
Language Arts/Writing -
Students will focus and practice the following objectives: direct objectives, progressive verb tense, prefix -en, and suffixes -able, ful, ly, ite, and ive. In grammar we will practice adjectives and have a test on Wednesday. In writing we will begin informative analysis with focus on Theodore Roosevelt and Lou Gehrig.
Reading - Students will read several poems and focus on the following: stanza, rhyme, scheme, and meter. Test will be next week on types of text.
Math - Students will continue with fractions and decimals to tenths and hundredths place. They will also be introduced to multiplication principal of counting using array and free diagram. Benchmark 2 will be given on Thursday before early release.
Science - Students will continue the unit on Human Ecosystems and Soil Conservation.
Social Studies - Quiz on Thursday.
