Our Learning this Week:
In Spalding, we will enter list 8 and be tested on list 7. We will enter rule page 4 which deals with Spalding rule 11.
In language/writing, we will learn about apostrophes, past tense verbs, complex sentences, prefixes and suffixes. We will complete grammar lessons 26, 30, 31 and 32. We will finish drafting our 5 paragraph informative essays on animal adaptations.
In reading, we will continue our study of the types of texts. We will read biographies this week. We will read Sacagawea's Journey in the Open Court test and students will have an assessment over the reading on Thursday. We will continue with our book study.
In math, we will learn to subtract multi-digit numbers with regrouping using the U.S. standard and base ten strategies. We will complete lesson 30 and investigation 3.
In science, we will be studying animal classification. We will read A Chapter 1 Lesson 1.
In social studies, we will learn about the distinct characteristics of the Southwest region including Canyon de Chelly, the Grand Canyon, the Yucatan Peninsula and Casa Grande.
